this was a reeeeally good week for me ~ ^^

basically on Thursday

i have NO IDEA WHY but someone gave me her sandwich. and a bag of doritos
LOL
she took a bite out of it, YEAH but it’s practically a WHOLE SANDWICH
I gave it to a friend (who wanted to work in the studios but was super hungry) and found out it was basically pickles, lettuce, tomatoes (basically everything i hate LOL) wrapped in bread.

then friday morning we were in sculpting class and another girl gives me a banana
and sandwich girl gives me half a cookie

I’M LIKE A FOOD DISPOSAL CAN OR SOMETHING I LOVE IT

i’m also going to coney island on wednesday with some friends ^___^ the best thing is that we’re all poor so it won’t be like one person with tons of money wants to go on all the rides and the poor kids will be like waaaaaah
we’re just going to see what it’s like and mAYBE go on the most attractive looking ride, EXPERIENCE ETC

the most socializing I ever did in rutgers (aside from eating in the dining hall with friends HI) was going to the back of the campus to a tattoo parlour with this guy to ask about prices LOL and then we were like OMG THAT’S EXPENSIVE then parted

lol so pathetic…

so the whole deal with being the tech for the precollege class …

thursday afternoon, the tech for the studios saw me (disrupting) a class i wasn’t in and told me she wanted to ask me something

so i was thinking “crap is it about eating in the studios or sneaking some chemicals home or the tub of glue in my locker?” because i clearly have a very GUILTY CONSCIENCE

but instead she asked me about being the tech for the precollege class, and I said YES OKAY without thinking
because, for one thing, it’s great experience. it’s also something very pretty to put on my resume, a motive to be in studios on weekends AND i’ll meet potential incoming freshmen and can sell them all my old non jewelry supplies HAHAHAHAHAA

she said a whole lot about the internship, but i forgot most of it the second she said “you can earn a little extra money” and YES I CAN DO WITH SOME MONEY.


I was chatting with some friends (YES I’M MAKING FRIENDS I LOVE THIS SCHOOL) and they told me that since this job requires taking a fire safety test, it generally pays quite well— about $25~$30/hr?
and i was estimating like minimum wage ~ no more than $10/hr :x



but a lot happened from thursday until friday (concerning trying to get recommendations and permission from the dean (which I didn’t get because he’s kinda weird in general PLUS i’m first semester student which is also something to be iffy about) and some other people) but it turns out i can’t tech :|
at least not for this semester.

I’ll be tech-ing in the spring semester, and I need to quickly take (and pass) the test by next week ish because I need to sub in Oct 6 ~



and now my mom’s all happy because my brother got his TA job in his second semester at RU and now I got this offer in my first month at FIT ~__~
because FINALLY she has SOMETHING to show off to to her friends cos we really disappointed her during grade school ahahhahaha we were such terrible students. plus if i have something like this on my resume, i’ll have a lower chance to eat poop and drink pee (YES there was a period of time where she’d say that’s what i’d be doing in the future because i’d be so poor i could only afford to eat my own crap and poop it out and continuously eat/poop it. it’s really gross but she was joking .. until i blew up on her to stop saying that because it’s mean)

BUT NO REALLY it’s just a really good opportunity
and my relationship with my mom is FAB by the way don’t take it the wrong way i LOVE HER AND SHE LOVES ME we just use very odd ways to show it mUAH MOMMY LOVE YOU



anyway yeah
what’s really odd was that i had actually planned on going job hunting that week (on friday) around 8th and 7th ave because i REALLY NEED A JOB.
and after she told me next semester, I started looking up cute cafes and macaron shops I can potentially go job hunting in and she fb messages me saying “lauren can’t make it oct 6 please take the test soon” ~ and so it looks like job hunting will be on hold for now

which is SUCH A RELIEF cos i don’t feel like getting rejected 239812 times because of my lack of work experience ;___; everyone wants people with 2+ years! AND my limited schedule >: i doubt anyone wants someone who can only do a few hours on the weekends too
and this is only 3 hours a week on saturday mornings (when i can’t get into the studios anyway), i’ll stay after class to play in the studios and go home, do some homework and go to sleep.



i haven’t studied in SO LONG
but i’m the kind that if i take a long break from something i was bad at, i kinda get a lot better at it. maybe it’s the same for studying? OR AT LEAST the motivation of money will improve my memory 103209148x?

because friday night i put my sketchbook down to show my prof something and 5 seconds later i walk out of the studio empty handed cos i forgot about my sketchbook :|
